- Make sure you have switched on "Show Author" in Article Manager > Options. This displays "Written by" text at the top of your posts.
- Check your site for a file /language/overrides/en-GB.override.ini. If it does not exist, create it.
- Add a line to the file:

Google recently started to add additional information to search engine results pages, crediting the author of the content being shown. This give you some valuable extra exposure when your content surfaces in a search, thus:
The good news is it's really easy to get this extra bit of credit for your work, with the rel=
"author" tag. Remember I recently said that schema data was a trend to watch in 2012? This is another example!
Here's how:
Simply complete your Google Profile (you do have one, right?) and ensure the sites for which you write content are included in the "Contributor" section.
Then create a link from those web site back to your profile, using the rel="author" tag. You can use the simple Google Profile button, or simply add a link to your page like this in the <BODY> of your web site

where you replace [profile_url] with your Google+ profile link, for example https://plus.google.com/u/0/110922928815773180864/ is mine. If you want to check yor handiwork, you can use the Google rich snippets testing tool. Run it on your Google+ profile and your pages of content.

where the bit in bold is the link to YOUR Google Profile. This quick hack is good for any Joomla 1.7 site with a single author.
Google will soon discover these new connections and start to give you prominent credit in search results when your content is shown.
