After winning The Sunday Times / Commodore computer brain of the year at the age of 16, it was clearly going to be down hill all the way for @jezweb. After a stint writing computer games for Microdeal whilst completing his final year of school, Jeremy Webb was bitten by a different type of bug, and discovered the great outdoors.
What followed was 10 years as an outdoor instructor, expedition leader and professional development tutor taking him to Scotland, France, New Zealand, Malawi, Spain, Ecuador, Chile, Mexico and Brazil. After one too many exciting experiences he returned to the world of computing via a management degree. He feels with a surname like his, it was destiny.
He set up webbactivemedia in 2002 which has since helped many businesses and non profits thrive online by leveraging the right techniques and technology at the right time. He was part of the start up team for Frank water, an ethical bottled water company that influenced the entire bottled water market.
He has masterminded ecommerce operations turning over 6 figure sums and created one of the worlds most popular Italian recipe sites, Italyum and the associated multi platform app. He works as a web strategist for a number of online businesses, is a director of Echo eBooks, a digital publishing start up and is a trustee of the Forces Children's Trust.
He is a regular and enthusiastic keynote speaker on digital marketing and social media. Adventure is never far away, and he has kayaked from Scotland to Ireland, and raced 105 miles across Scotland in one day both in aid of the Forces Children's Trust.
In 2011 he used social media monitoring to capture a Dragon (Duncan Bannatyne) as a patron for the Forces Children's Trust, and ran two off-road ultra marathons.
The website transformed our business. Within twenty four hours we'd almost paid for the website with the orders we got.
